A Week in Electro-Tek- Electrical Work For Landlords
We have been busy at Electro-Tek over the last few weeks completing a number of jobs on rental flats and houses!
In a recent project from a new landlord, we were tasked with the installation of smoke alarms and certification in order to meet the requirements of Scottish Landlord Legislation. See pictures below:
A key switch was also installed to allow for the periodic testing of the new emergency fittings. This means that the individual testing of the fittings will not disrupt the local lighting circuits.
We have also seen an increase in demand for Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), which are a requirement for landlord certification. See our Electrical Safety Requirements For Landlords guide below for a quick summary of what’s required:
In the picture below, we are using specialist test equipment which creates a fault current. This allows us to test the function and disconnection times of Residual Current Devices to a millionth of a second!
